Humankind only create beings with the ability to procreate?

As an Adventist I’ve been told that humankind (and all life on earth) are the only beings created with the ability to procreate and as such this is one point of contention between Lucifer and God. I think this comes from the writings of E.G. White, but I’m struggling to find the reference. Assuming this is accurate, how do we reconcile the eternal, moral law of God, the ten commandments, with this fact. In particular the fifth, seventh and tenth commandments seem to directly refer to the marital relationship, but if God’s law predates humankind, and we are the only created beings with the ability for procreation and by extension marriage, then these commands seem to be superfluous until very recently in the history of the universe.

I’m sure I’m missing something here. Any help appreciated.

I am not sure I understood your question correctly, especially on procreation part. My understanding of procreation is the deliberate act to beget /bring forth an offspring after one’s own kind.

I have never read this in any SoP material. If you can remember where you read it, kindly share the material for further consultation. In the meantime I would recommend you read The Adventist Home.

I will share more information as I study more about the question. Other members will also share their thoughts.

Thanks for the response. I am just struggling with the logic of the fifth, seventh and tenth commandments being eternal, predating mankind, if in fact mankind was the only created beings who married and have offspring.
