Summary of the video:

In this video, Randy Skeete discusses the concept of the Holy Trinity in Christianity, which comprises God the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. He emphasizes that these are three separate entities but share one substance. Here are the key points:
  1. The Holy Spirit: Skeete affirms the existence of the Holy Spirit as a distinct entity. He warns against blaspheming the Holy Spirit, stating that it is an unforgivable sin according to the Bible (Matthew 12:31-32).
  2. Anointing of Jesus: He explains that Jesus was anointed by the Holy Spirit, not by Himself. This anointing was done by God the Father through the Holy Spirit, emphasizing their distinct roles (Luke 4:18, Acts 10:38).
  3. High Priesthood of Jesus: Skeete discusses the high priesthood of Jesus, stating that Jesus did not anoint Himself as a high priest. Instead, He was anointed by God the Father through the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 5:1-5).
  4. Authority and Knowledge: He highlights that the one who sends has greater authority than the one sent. Thus, God the Father, who sends both Jesus and the Holy Spirit, has the highest authority. However, all three entities are equally divine as they share the same knowledge (John 13:16, 1 Corinthians 2:9-11).
  5. Baptism of Jesus: Skeete uses the baptism of Jesus to illustrate the distinct existence of the three entities. During the baptism, Jesus was in the water, the Holy Spirit descended from the sky, and God the Father’s voice was heard from heaven (Matthew 3).
  6. The Holy Spirit as a Guide: Skeete concludes by emphasizing the role of the Holy Spirit as a guide, a friend, and a source of conviction and restraint. He warns against denying the existence of the Holy Spirit, stating that it places one in mortal danger because blaspheming the Holy Ghost is an unpardonable sin.
Skeete’s discussion centers on affirming the distinct identities of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, while emphasizing their unity in substance and purpose.

This is one topic that has elicited great debate amongst Adventists. I agree with Randy Skeete as pertains to the Trinity. Some argue that the word trinity is not in the Bible which is true but the concept is there. There is equally no word as millenium in the Bible but we talk of it, the concept is there.

I read a story about how coyotes behave during mating, and I think it is a fitting analogy here. So, it happens that during the mating season (Feb-Mar), the female coyote emits pheromones that attract not only the male coyotes but also male dogs. The female coyote will lure the male dog from the village where there is human protection to the jungle where it is vulnerable. There, the rest of the coyote pack will attack it and kill it. The dog did not know that it was being lured; it was just following the scent of the female.

In a similar fashion, the devil aims to not only sow discord but also to plant disbelief in the hearts of men. The devices of the devil are subtle but very well calculated. By sowing a seed of disbelief, you begin to question every foundational belief you hold. That is the gotcha! moment he's aiming for to draw men away from the protection of God into vulnerable ground (build context with The Spirit of Prophecy vol. 4, p. 350.2 - Ellen G. White). He has managed to get people busy talking about things that do not edify, empty arguments that do not add to Christian growth.

The devil fears nothing, except that men should be acquainted with his devices. See the excerpt below,

None are in greater danger from the influence of evil spirits than are those who, notwithstanding the direct and ample testimony of the Scriptures, deny the existence and agency of the devil and his angels. So long as we are ignorant of their wiles, they have almost inconceivable advantage; many give heed to their suggestions while they suppose themselves to be following the dictates of their own wisdom. This is why, as we approach the close of time, when Satan is to work with greatest power to deceive and destroy, he spreads everywhere the belief that he does not exist. It is his policy to conceal himself and his manner of working (The Spirit of Prophecy vol. 4, p. 335.1 - Ellen G. White).
