Does anyone really keep the Sabbath day as it says in Exodus 16:29 on the Sabbath day stay in your place don't leave your place so no one can go to church on the Sabbath day as you have to stay in your place of course people will say Jesus healed the blind man on the Sabbath so you can do good on the Sabbath day going to church is good Jesus with his disciples walking through a field picked the crop that was growing in the field so Jesus was harvesting working on the Sabbath day so we must be able to work also on the Sabbath church will have to be held on another day as no one can travel on the Sabbath day it doesn't say in the bible what day to attend the synagogue or church but it can't be on the Sabbath day if you want to live by the law you have to keep all the laws God writes how it is be done not a watered down version of the Law as people are keeping then you are just messing around with God's laws but if the church did keep the Sabbath day law as it says in the Exodus 16 29 many and many people will leave the church people won't give two days to God one the Sabbath and the other day for church

Show me where Jesus said to keep the Sabbath day he only talks about nine of the ten commandments I can't find that Jesus said about Sabbath day keeping. We are living in the new testament now if you think that you are Jewish and like to keep Sabbath day as symbolic remember of your relations that's all you are doing if you want to keep the commandments of Jesus then love your neighbour as your self you can go and feed the homeless give them blankets clothes that's keeping the commandments just thinking you are keeping Sabbath day when you are really not as it was meant to be kept God is not seeing it at all SDA church is making God look insufficient that's what I thought when I went to SDA church meetings it's all just talk about their ideas they worship a day not God that have made a day a god that's all they talk about a day.

Read Mathew 5:17-18.

Besides you never gave me a answer on Exodus 20:8-11 don't get anyone to work for you on the Sabbath day even if they don't keep the Sabbath day
It is your responsibility as a believer to ensure that those under your care - including your children, your servants, your possessions, and strangers within your gates - obey God.

It says don't do any work don't make your children or servants or any other person work for you. If I am not mistaken power companies have workers working on the Sabbath and police work on the Sabbath if a person keeps the Sabbath they don't want to have other people working for them that's why it says stay at home with power off don't drive on the road you are using traffic lights someone is working to keep them on. By the way can a SDA church member use a train or a bus to get to church on the Sabbath day?.

The answer that you are looking for is in John 5:1–18.

I don't hear that the SDA church prays for the sick or ask any one in the service who are sick to come up for prayer in fact the people I knew that were members since they were born where most times sick with one thing or another SDA church doesn't walk around on the streets praying for people who are sick. Or are you saying that working in a power station or being a police officer is a good work permitted on the Sabbath day if so how many SDA members work at power stations or are police it says in Exodus 20:8:11 don't do any work and don't get anybody to do your work on the Sabbath day don't think praying for a sick person is work as the healing comes from God you remember God who made everything there is

You have totally missed the mark. The paralytic was healed on the Sabbath. Jesus told him to take up his mat and go. The religious leaders were furious because the man was carrying his mat on the Sabbath, yet the law forbade him to do so. This is the same form of fury you are showing with your line of questioning. I was just trying to show you that Jesus had already dealt with it many years ago. Judge for yourself what is right to do, you have a conscious mind, and you have the word of God. Be guided accordingly.

FYI: SDAs do pray for the sick, if you didn't know. They just don't go out looking for a shaking reed in the wilderness (Mathew 11:7-10).

So now you are saying because of the carrying of the mat we can do as we like on the Sabbath day watch tv go to the shops work on the Sabbath Play spots your the one who showed me Exodus 20:8-11 now it doesn't matter?

I have provided you enough evidence. You also have the word of God. If you have a conscience, you will be able to make the right decision. Circumnavigating void nuances helps no one.

Well carrying the mat can mean do as you like on the Sabbath day I am supposed to send this scripture to you to show that doesn't matter anymore what you do on the Sabbath day if Jesus healed on the Sabbath and the man carrying he's mat what you think don't matter what you are doing on the Sabbath day as long as it is good

Anyway I have to hand in my report in two days as this what was assigned to me nothing personal you understand I have been given this subject to research if the SDA church is a religious cult and if extreme one or harmless I will just put confused but harmless I have been talking to a few SDA people online to get my research they don't really seem to know what their talking about just what they learn at the church anyway thanks for your time like I said nothing personal.

If this was an assignment, then you better do more reading on your own. The SDA church has a large library of resources that are publicly available. @adamjedgar also suggested some resources that you can read. Read for yourself then come back and ask questions AFTER YOU HAVE READ. I asked you on several instances what you have a problem with, and you ignored the questions as if you didn't see them. I also asked you to back up your bold claims with evidence, you never did.

You cannot use a single sub-lens to conclude a general matter, anyone who has done a systematic study knows that. This thread is about Sabbath keeping. I have provided scriptures proving its validity. You chose to argue without substance - and you still chest-thumped that you were right - as if it was a contest. You're arguing like a lawyer thinking you'd find an occasion to use my words against me, except, you have no proof, while I have referenced my submissions with scriptures. The bible interprets itself (Isaiah 28:10).

Without saying it loud, I have been demonstrating to you what religious liberty entails. That no one should describe to you to the 't' what you should or should not do. God has already done that, and He has given you the freedom to choose whether to follow or not. The accompanying benefits of obedience as well as consequences of disobedience are outlined. He has also provided the principles to follow with your free will. He didn't stop there; He went ahead to promise that He will always be there to help you. The choice is yours.

This thread is still here in case you want to come back to it with a sober mind.

you have heard the above??? I'd love to know who you heard that from because from my experiences in many Adventist churches the complete opposite is the reality.

Can I ask...

Have you ever heard of ADRA?

may I suggest you study up on ADRA, its mission and its record.

I have to wonder if your denomination has such an entity such as this, dedicated to the purpose of helping others?

Oh and let's talk health care seeing you brought this up...

In 2022, the Seventh-day Adventist Church was the largest Protestant health care provider in the world, with 1,000 facilities around the world. The facilities all together have 36,000 beds and 78,000 employees. All together 1.5 million admissions and 20 million outpatient visits.[1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Seventh-day_Adventist_hospitals

Apparently we don't pray for or have any interest in helping the sick?

If you are convinced the second largest Christian education system in the world, the largest Protestant hospital system in the world, one of the largest relief agencies in the world, are all the work of a religious cult, then you are naive and ignorant of the reality and the facts! (and I havent included our churches Australian health food company into the mix..."who is Sanitarium Health Foods"?)

The SDA church makes up alot of what they claim to have done they have done some of it but not in that numbers. Like the Catholics who have many hospitals and schools and homes for children with out family. The SDA church makes up stories like the signs of the times magazine every month on the front cover will be sports person like a race car driver or tennis player and there will be a story about who is ever on the front cover these people are not SDA church members as they play on Saturday's and there is no mention of them going to any church in the write up signs of the times magazine makes it look like these people are SDA members by putting them on the cover. And the songs that they sing in their churchs are not written by SDA members they are from other real churches. And I wouldn't call the SDA church Protestant they are more a religious cult that takes some ideas from real churches and claim it was them had it first and other churches use it now after all the net wealth of the SDA church world wide is 15 billion dollars just think if the Catholic church the SDA church Jehovah witness and Mormans with all their money could pay off the debt of many countries if I were to get into government I would tax religious groups no more tax exemption for any of them.

You have a bigger problem to deal with. You need a well-thought out strategy, which requires whole lot of reading. Leave no loose ends. Good luck.

A Christian will never say good luck to anyone God doesn't deal in luck a Protestant Christian will say God bless you or the Lord keep you and bless you. Only eastern pagans religion's believe in luck you would of known this if they teach you anything in the bible apart from the Sabbath day.

You ask for proof. We give you evidence. You claim our data is made up. You do not back your claim with evidence. I think you need luck because you’re gambling.

You cannot operate any legitimate organization in any territory without complying with the local regulations and codes. Go read your local tax code. Then walk into any local SDA church to ask if they are compliant. You will get your answer there.

I am just asking as the SDA couple I knew she worked at a SDA school as teachers assistant and the school used to take her tithes straight from her pay he was against that as he said you you have to make the decision to give your self I said then the church would never get the money as you don't give he said they have enough money as it is. He wanted to go to work place relations to stop them taking the money but she said another woman husband did that and after a few months she got layed off the husband then took the SDA school to fair work court and the SDA school had to pay he wife off and they couldn't go to a SDA church anymore because people didn't want to talk to them. So the chap I knew wanted he wife to leave that school and get a job in a government school and she did and he was happy as they didn't pay their tithes. I said to him it says in the bible to give tithes he said they will just waste it like pay rsome spots Star so they can put their face on the signs of the times magazine.
